Anonymous asked: i'm in the 10th grade and i'm having a bit of an existential crisis. i wanna be like the people you photograph but i'm not sure how to do that. i was beginning to be like that at the beginning of the year when i dyed my hair green and did/wore what i wanted and didn't care. but my self confidence has slipped so much from then to now that its so hard to even get dressed. i wanna be cool and dye my hair cool colors and just not care about who thinks what. idk, what did you do in highschool?

I hated school sooo much and used to bunk off because of really silly things like I hated my hair !! which is hilarious and stupid. Ive changed my appearance lots of times and its never solved any problems. I’m sorry you’re having a miserable time if you come off anon I don’t mind talking to you and giving you some better advice, I had a miserable time at school so I feel you x

Anonymous asked: how did you ever become confident enough in your work and yourself to start photographing such beautiful people? i mean you're one of those beautiful people and your work is absolutely wonderful and so impressive, but i hope you understand what i'm asking??? like, i wanna experiment with portraits and different hand-made settings and backgrounds but i'm kind of scared to ask for other people's participation. are u really outgoing in person?? do you get nervous shooting ppl?

i think its best not to be too reflective on your personality and learn how to ignore your own negative thoughts. personally i like to say LALALALALLALA really loudly in my head (seriously). im not a nervous or shy person but thats probably because i was the first child in the family and got lots of attention.

maybe you need to think of it as you are doing them a nice thing too, cos everyone likes nice pictures of themselves!
i started photographing people with my sister, maybe you could practise with a family member or even yourself? i dont think pretty people are important to a make a pretty picture. i like to make my portraits either mysterious or really friendly and warm cos thats what i see as beautiful.

i think its important to not let your hardships be the reason why you are yourself !! which is very hard sometimes.

go with your gut instinct X

ofalltheworldidreaminpaper asked: omg, your work is so beautiful, i don't know if u get this... but when i am getting ready (like makeup and clothes), it has to feel a certain way like, the right portrail of my personality and like when i look at your work i get the same "right" feeling when looking at your work, like it feel perfect

thank you <3 that means alot actually. i’m really against the subject of the picture being just an object, which is why i have steered away from fashion photography for now… i try make my portraits about the person im shooting just as much as they are about myself. i always want my subject to feel beautiful when they look at the pictures too.
